I am only 15 and have wanted to practice martial arts for a little while. Lately I have been looking for schools around my area but have only found a limited number of schools teaching different styles. My question is: How long does Aikido take to be effectice in? Does it take 5 years like some Martial Arts? Or in order to be effective does it take more like 10-12?
