The fighting that you see in a kung fu movie is fantasy. Traditional forms NEVER look anything like what you learned in practical application. That being said capoeira is effective in that a capoeirista’s body is more agile and conditioned than a typical martial artist’s, because of their energetic training.
In a real fight, it doesn’t matter which style you trained in; what matters are your physical attributes, your intensity and spirit as a fighter, and most of all: whether or not being hit in the head by your opponent takes the fight out of you. Training in mma styles or the military are what will help you “whoop-ass” or kill. Most people are not cut out for it though.
