Actually Justin, Capoeira did not originate in Africa, it did orignate in Brazil. It all started when the slave trade was still happening in Brazil, and the slaves developed this fighting style to one day overcome their masters. Their masters would see them and possibly kill them if they had seen them learning to fight, so the slaves instead disguised the fighting as a dance, hence the style that is seen today.
