Striking the vital points are found in African, Micronesian (Bwang)/Polynesian, European Et Al martial traditions. The only reason that this tradition has been contemporarily and solely linked to Asia was/is due to the Asian martial arts movie, and subsequent marketing industries.

It is like anything else; until there are movies showing African civilizations, for example, people will continue to believe that Africans, and Lions, live in the “JUNGLE.”

There is nothing new under the sun, and Asians did not invent what we are now calling pressure point striking.

BTW, in India, this system is called Marma Adi, with Chinese influenced aspects of Kalaripayatu’s pressure point hitting called Chinna Adi (Adi meaning to hit).
