I can remember back in the early ’70’s when Mr. Yamaguchi opened the Palo Alto Swim Club Dojo. He had both younger brothers with him and really put on a quite a display during the first couple of weeks of starting the school. Along with Cornell Watson, whom I grew up with in East Palo Alto, and Ralph Percell, we were one of the first who received Black Belts under Mr Yamaguchi. We really worked out tails off too. I still have the photo of that class taken with dad “The Cat” and son Gosei. I really miss those days and cherish the experience.
