i hear people constantly saying a kick above the belt doesnt work in self-defense i dont know why it doesnt work for anyone else but ive used in in a defense situation and it worked, once you kick someone in the face they generally dont think about grabbing your foot or leg ive also thrown kicks to the solar plexus with only positive results (for me at least) just wanted to give my imput on high kicks
