My uncle diddn’t train with Bruce, my JKD instructor did. And before I commented, I asked for his blessing to write about Bruce and James, and the time period was 1962 - 1972, the year James died. My instructor (who wishes to remain anonymous)is very selective about who he trains. All former Oakland instructors share this trait, as it was passed down onto them. I guess that they were/ are overlooked as far as thier part in JKD, and they’re preserving their lineage. I was named after my uncle, and he teaches privately down south.
