Sorry to say this but “J-Byrd” knows little about the history of martial arts. J-Byrd stated that Karate is another form of Ju-Jitsu and under the Karate section of this website J-Byrd stated that Karate was developed for women. Karate has nothing to do with Ju-Jitsu, Karate developed in Okinawa from indigenous fighting styles of Okinawa and in some cases fighting styles from China. Ju-jitsu is from Japan and developed as a military art for the samurai on the battlefield. Even though women do participate in Karate it was not intended as a means of self-defense for women. People bottom line is….DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND LEARN FOR YOURSELVES BECAUSE WHAT SOMEONE IS TELLING YOU COULD BE WRONG.
