Gracie Jiu jitsu is crap. Always has been and always will be. MMA is crap and sadly so is the Army Rangers in training Gracie Jiu Jitsu but I guess they had to pick some crap system of fighting hand to hand since they couldn’t fight anyways. There are practitioners in various disciplines of martial arts that no one ever heard of or has seen; just common everyday type of folk ( not famous or rich or even a so called “master” - depends on ones definition) that can kick Gracie Jiu jitsu from one end of this cosmos to the other without breaking a sweat. Their (Gracie Jiu jitsu) so called system is not practical for real fighting and although they are great promoters of their “style” and have made a lot of money over it (power to them for making money) they cannot fight worth a damn. I have watched countless fights of UFC and the old reels of Helio and Rorion et. el. (Gracie Family) in so called action and there is absolutely no way their system is superior fighting. It is more like WWF, WWE, TNA, ECW wrestling which is entertaining but not effective.
