Pankration is the Greek form of martial art. It is said to be the first true mixed martial art. It imposes strikes, takedowns, joint locks, and submissions. It was not until recently(late 1900’s) that it became popular again. It was reinvented by Demetrios (Jim) Arvantis who is now a grand master.
