Karate originated as a form of self-defense for women. I myself have been to classes and found it to be fairly comical. So many men nowadays brag about knowing Karate, when in Feudal Japan it would have been incredibly shameful to a martial artist to have their style dubbed as Karate. It does have it’s good points, but it pales in comparison to so many other styles.
