I’m trying to think of all the styles that were developed by the samurai, and thus all the styles one would have to learn to be on par with a samurai. With swords, I see there’s kenjutsu (how similar is kendo to this?) and iaido. And they used jujutsu to take down and stab enemies who were close, which makes sense since jujutsu (and then judo) are based on shifting your opponent’s weight which would be easy to do to a person in full samurai armor (although maybe not to a fully trained samurai). Anybody know of others that samurai found useful?
