Ive been training in krav for abit under a year now “P2″ and have found it to be by far the most comprehensive training around. Its emphasis on environmental awareness ie the use of common objects and training from positions of disadvantage are 2 aspects alone that set Krav apart from any other form of fight training.
Most Traditional MA were formed along time ago in parts of the world where honour ment everything, especially in battle. Unfortunately todays conflicts are conducted much differently. So what worked then probably wont work now. “common sense”
To say “any” boxer would lay out a Krav practitioner every time i find hard to swallow. The first thing a boxer would do is probably break every bone in his hand as its much different hitting skull bare handed. Ive found open handed palm strikes and hammer punches as taught by Krav much more user friendly and devastating to any opponent then the traditional punching a boxer would display.
And on stances Krav teaches to be on the move the whole time. I would rather be moving to my opponents dead zone then standing squarely in front of him with my nice text book stance getting beaten. Krav all the way.
