Touche … Sorry for the knucklehead comment, nice to see someone take it in stride (e.g. your new “name”) …

I would imagine that most, if not all of us who train in any discipline, are biased towards their own. I also believe that all styles are due equal deference. The point is outside of the ring, in any sport, I think the advantage of one over the other goes out the window - There are too many variables in the street. A boxer would likely “win” a “toe to toe” confrontation against many styles, if only hands were flying, and the altercation was prolonged. However, take someone equally trained in a discipline the boxer isn’t trained to defend (could be Krav, TKD, BJJ, MMA) coupled with the intangibles of the street, and in my humble opinion the boxer’s advantage is gone.

Regarding training - The average Krav Maga training, at least that I’ve been exposed to, does not take stamina into account (i.e. there are few “marathoners”, but many “sprinters”). A street fight is typically over in minutes, if not seconds, and training in Krav offers the benefit of excellent training for that type of confrontation, including the stress of the situation (the adrenaline dump) because we’re trained to end it quickly. I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to Krav, but would get killed trying to fight for 45 minutes.

With respect,
KJ
