Our little-known style, Northern Shaolin / Northern Praying Mantis, was developed primarily as a composite of two major styles. The Northern Shaolin side of our kung fu curriculum contains such influences as Tan Tui, Duan Da Chuan, Chin Kang Chuan (jingangquan), Black Tiger (He Hu), and more. The Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu side of the equation comes from Mimen Tanglang (closed door praying mantis), which itself is an offshoot of Mei Hua Tanglang (plum flower praying mantis).
