I have also never heard of a panther kung fu. There are five animal styles, which are:

White(Southern) or Black(Northern) Crane
White(Southern) or Black(Northern) Tiger
Northern or Southern Praying Mantis
Crab
Snake

I know White Crane myself. I also know Drunken boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Tai Ch’i, Wing Chun, Judo, and Capoeira. It is extremely hard to find teachers for these martial arts. I recommend that you should be experienced in another martial art before attempting to learn them.
