Just a few corrections/suggestions:
1.Kung Fu is the oldest martial art. Life started in the Middle East, however, culture developed in present day Asia. And of course, at the time Kung-Fu was part of the culture.
2. You should name some styles of Kung Fu. Here’s some.
A]The 5 Animal Styles [Dragon, Panther, Snake, Crane, and Tiger]
B] Praying Mantis
C] Toad [I don’t know anyting about it.]
And MANY, MANY, others.
Also, you might want to add that all styles of Okinawan Karate have roots in White Crane [Southern] Gung Fu.
One more thing [lol]….. Kung-Fu means “Time, Energy]. It is not used to describe fighting. Kung-Fu means that it takes time and energy to learn the art. Kung-Fu could be chopping up lettuce, painting, swimming, etc. The proper term for what is known as Kung Fu would be Wushu, which means “Martial Techniques” or “The Martial Way” in Mandarin. Wushu is not even a style. Wushu is a way. Wushu refers to the entire realm of fighting, not just certain principles of it. Bruce Lee used to stress this quite often, saying the there is really no style, and as long as you have 2 arms, and 2 legs, fighting is well…..fighting. Wuhsu could be biting, spitting, throwing rocks, etc.
I can write an actual article on Kung-Fu for you if you’d like. I would be kinda long though…… Let me know through e-mail if you want me to contribute more.
