I too was in the military in Lawton Oklahoma. I was also a member of the Kyokushinkai style. I was under Robert “Zippy” Taylor. I had came to Zippy when Mr. Bob Green, a student of Mr. Norris’s Tang-Soo-Do, left Lawton to be with mr. Norris in California in the late 80’s. I have met and been at tournaments with Mr. Hale. I ended up in Turkey and jumped into Tae-Kwon-Do under Mr. Ricky Todd, ITF/USTF. The headquarters for USTF is in the Colrado Springs area under Grandmaster C.E. Serrif, 9th Degree, and the only non oriental to hold that rank. He was a direct student of General Choi Hong Hi founder of Tae Kwon-Do , and labeled father of Tae Kwon-Do.
