My friend Dustin who studied Jeet Kune Do and Judo is usually an easy win for me in a spar. Of course, he started learning Muay Thai and now when we spar it is always a stalemate; over the course of forty minutes he got two hits on me and I got two on him.
I will say I am impressed by Muay Thai, even though I know little about it other than it originated in Thailand.
And in response to an earlier comment, ALL martial arts are influenced by other martial arts. There’s no way for anyone to say where kickboxing originated, for all we know cavemen had a secret martial art superior to anything we have today.
