Footwork, as Banger says, is fundamental. I would also add that footwork under pressure, and then exhaustion is the next level. Can you block, put the leg back where it was and then fire two kicks in a row with the same leg? That’s footwork. My trainer only allows you to cool down from the hard stuff by basically dancing around the ring for a round, keeping your feet right. It’s a good practice to get into, moving with balance and power when your body’s screaming for a break. Anyone can keep their feet for the first round, but what about the fifth?
