Hi my names Oli I’ve been training at the bujinkan for over 2 years now and therefore wish to point out that there’s a lot of rubbish about it flying around the web. A lot of people are misguided on this art due to what they’ve seen in the movies. ninjitsu is completely different to what Hollywood depicts as being.
For one ninja are not ruthless assassins who don’t give a monkeys for who they kill, no the ninja respected life in its entirety, they believed that to be enlightened and truly invincible they should be at one with nature. With this enlightenment they sought to adapt to the landscape (what they believed to be drawing strength from).
Also what had me in a spin was ninja swords!!! Why is it that everywhere you look on the internet they are selling straight bladed ninja swords!!! It’s like I’m going crazy here! They seem to have copied all the crap from other sites that they are straight bladed; they even sell them to you straight bladed!!!
I’m not saying a ninja would not use such a weapon, as they adapt they’re weapon skills to any object at hand capable of inflicting damage with. However it is entirely incorrect that ninja swords were originally straight bladed as they were not, they were curved like the samurai sword.
