Savate is flourishing in Los Angeles, with lots of training and competitions. Many students come to learn it from Muay Thai, JKD, and boxing backgrounds and are surprised to find what a great workout and effective fighting style it is. Its kicks and punches are powerful, varied and come at opponents from all directions. Bruce Lee was so impressed with Savate kicks that he incorporated them into JKD.
