Shorinjiryu Kempo(young forrest temple lineage of the way of the fist) is the appropriate term and is based off of the shaolin system. It’s founder Doshin had traveled and studied with the shaolin monks of period of time and saw that the post war of world war II youth of japan was lacking in spirit and morality so he combined the ethics he learned of buddhism with kempo( way of the fist) and tried to establish a system that would both strengthen the youth and promote harmony in the populace and the community.

Infact many of the Shaolin monks consider practitioners of Shorinjiryu kempo to be fellow brothers and cousins due to this lineage and rightfully so considering that both roots are based off of Chan(chinese for Zen_) buddhism.
