Sorry but historically, Uechi-ryu has nothing to do with Goju-ryu. Moreover it’s completly wrong to say that Uechi-ryu “also draws other influences from Goju Ryu”.
The only common point is that Goju Ryu comes from a chinese boxing of dragon, white crane, and tiger… and also Uechi-ryu. The founder of Goju-ryu trained under the chinese Master Go Kenki (Wu Xiangui). Kanbun Uechi, founder of Uechi-ryu under Shu Shiwa (Zhou Zhihe). It is believe that Go Kenki et Shu Shiwa knew each other and trained together, but their school were different.
Matayoshi Shinpo created Kingai Ryu from a mix between Go Kenki’s white crane school and Shu Shiwa’s.
There are similarities between goju-ryu and Uechi-ryu at the beginning, due to the fact that both chinese school, where those okinawa karate come from, have similarities (feeding white crane especially). But it’s different.
Nowadays, modern goju and Uechi has nothing in common but the naha-te specificities (kitae-waza, short distance fighting, jissen fighting, …) and the way white crane is present in Uechi-ryu is much more important than in goju.
