I have been doing ‘Wado Ryu’ style Karate for about 4 or 5 years and am now 15 years old and one belt away from my 1st black belt. I had experience in Shotokan karate in the past which I failed to enjoy as less emphasis was on evasion, and I was only a weedy little child then. Luckily I found the style for me eventually. I’d recommend this style probably more as a basic martial art to build on which I intend to eventually when I get my 1st dan black belt. I’d say it’s quite good for the younger ones, but at times could be abit too complex for them, although I rarely had much trouble learning. Overall I thoughrouly enjoy it and you can definatley get lot out of it. It’s a very popular martial art in England as i’ve been told.
If you hae any ideas of styles not necessarily in karate which I can learn which can broaden my understading and capabilities in martial arts please contact jaymayC@hotmail.com.
