The creator of Yoseikan was Minoru Mochizuki. He died in 2003. He was a direct student of Jigoro Kano, Morihei Ueshiba, and Gichen Funikoshi as well as several others. He introduced aikido to Europe in the early 1950’s. Several years later, his son, Hiroo Mochizuki, introduced Shotokan karate to Europe. Hiroo Mochizuki is the founder and creator of Yoseikan Budo, which he named yoseikan in honor of his father and his father’s work. Currently, Yoseikan Budo is practiced in over 30 countries around the world. Hiroo Mochizuki was also a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba and does have signficant rank in multiple martial arts already mentioned. He is the head of Yoseikan and continues to practice, teach and create Yoseikan Budo at his home in Aix en Provence, France.
